Serving Our Planet in a Small Way Where We Can at Site 1, High Ercall, Tidy up 21 st September 2024.
Simmonds are planting Wildflowers on the previous grassland areas @ Site 1 in order to bring more wildlife and improve accessibility for people to share and enjoy.
On 21st September we will be sowing the seeds, weather dependant. We are after volunteers to help rake/sow some areas which are difficult to reach with a tractor.
We will also be having a more general tidy up of rubbish, etc around the site.
If anyone wants to come along and help that would be fantastic. There is no pay but anyone who help from 9am to 1pm will be given a half days holiday in lieu.
We will meet at Site 1 at 9am until approx. 12 noon. Just wear normal work clothes and good shoes. Bring a drink and snack if required.

Our customer service is supported through our technological satellite tracking system, which allows us to provide real time updates on our deliveries and collections.
These updates are accessible to each customer who has their own specific login, so you are able to view the tracking of your loads from any device with an internet browser.

Our Environment
The haulage industry isn’t an industry famed for its low level environmental impact. Here at Simmonds we are trying to buck this trend and off set our carbon footprint both directly within our own operation and indirectly within our extended network.
Simmonds Transport are investing heavily in a new contemporary fleet which are all equipped with Euro Six engines, thirty two vehicles have been purchased in the first six months of 2024 with a view to modernise the fleet further still. Along with this any company cars purchases are all fully EV vehicles, and we have two EV charging points at both locations, Stafford Park and High Ercall.
Our commitment to our environment and its sustainability doesn’t stop at the vehicles we use. We are planting over four acres of wild meadows on the grasslands surrounding our High Ercall sites, providing bee’s, butterflies and other pollinators with food throughout the year. Alongside this project we also have some bee hives ready to move into High Ercall.
We are working with Telford council to plant wildflower meadows on the roundabout and verges adjacent to our Stafford Park site. We are supporting the Friends of Telford Town Park on more nature based projects.
Alternative energy supplies for our offices in the form of solar panels will be installed across all sites. we recycle all our cardboard in the Stafford Park warehouse and looking to expand this across all sectors.

Vehicle Maintenance
In order to keep our wheels turning we are supported by DAF, Scania and our own internal workshop.
Our workshop is situated at High Ercall and has three strong team led by our Workshop and Fleet Manager.
The team carry out a wide variety of internal jobs, such as on site trailer maintenance and
mobile assistance 24 / 7 with the two mobile vans who are on hand to assist our vehicles.
